Meet Austin
Austin B. Determan joined Litaker Insurance as Director of Claims & Risk Management in 2023. In her role, Austin guides both personal and commercial clients through the claims process from start to finish and provides support around insurance and risk management issues that clients could face.
Austin was born and raised in the Charlotte area. She is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science in Risk Management & Insurance but was first exposed to the industry as a child seeing her mother work as an insurance adjuster for more than 20 years. Prior to joining the Litaker Insurance team, Austin served as a Claims Representative at Auto-Owners Insurance and as a Senior Claims Specialist at Cincinnati Insurance Company.
Outside of work, Austin enjoys spending time with her friends and family (spouse Randy, kids Peyton and Allie, and dog Riley), eating Mexican and Italian food, attending concerts and listening to music, traveling to the mountains, beach, and lake, going camping and fishing, watching her kids play sports, and cheering on her favorite teams: App State, Tennessee Volunteers, Atlanta Braves, and Carolina Panthers. She is also passionate about supporting the Humane Society of Cabarrus County, where she adopted her dog, and Special Olympics of Cabarrus County.
